The civic association SKRZPRST focuses on the production, creation, promotion and presentation of dance works in Slovakia and abroad; development of interdisciplinary artistic cooperation; collaboration with domestic and foreign dance artists; raising awareness of new approaches to movement, performance and performativity; organization of educational activities in the dance field and culture; cooperation with other civic associations focused on dance.
At the heart of the association's artistic intent is a performer, teacher (Dance Department at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava), specialized movement therapist and choreographer Juraj (Yuri) Korec and current production team: Martin Krištof - a longtime production manager and dramaturg of the Stanica Žilina-Záriečie cultural centre and Alica Šaling Kuchtová - a dance performer and capable organizer.
During the three years of its existence, the association covered production and successful presentation of Yuri Korec & Co. the performances: d-BODY-m (2017), Solo Not Just For One Body (2018), Not a Solo (2018) and Habibi 2196-18 (2018) both in Slovakia and abroad. Educational workshops designed not only for dance artists and international art research residencies, most recently for recent graduates of European dance schools in Záhrada - Centre of Independent Culture, Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, which was also a preparatory phase for the creation of a new piece.
Currently, we focus on presenting the most up-to-date works while putting them in context of education and popularization of contemporary dance performance at art schools, presenting the Young Generation Tour (a curatorial project representing the youngest generation of dance artists) and further preparation for a new performance.
