Inspired by sci-fi poetics, choreographer Juraj Korec crafts a playground on the edge of a collapse of world order and AI dilemmas. Here, five enigmatic figures—singularities—heed gravity’s call, leaving behind their known realms. Their micro-stories, inscribed daily into their bodies, are both indelible and fleeting, like footprints on the moon. Where can one go if they can only backtrack?
The STORY, an international co-production, invites audiences to reflect on bodily storytelling through a radical, voyeuristic lens. The performers and viewers never interact, allowing the audience to ponder the motivations and fleeting identities that emerge and vanish. This project continues Korec’s extensive exploration of bodily performativity in contemporary dance and visual media, following his interdisciplinary research project Expose yourself to a body.
